Gas/Air Heat Exchangers

 

AirBTU provide air pre-heaters, steam coils, and finned tube coils designed and built by Lynchburg Air Preheater Company.  Air pre-heaters utilize slide in/slide out steam coils in duct frame assemblies to pre-heat air to boilers, fired heaters, and other process equipment.  AirBTU designs and builds custom VPRR recuperators for gas-to-gas heat transfer up to 15 psig, 1200F and 50,000 cfm per single module.

AirBTU recuperators utilize CFD (computational flow dynamics) modeled, random tube layouts in a cylindrical symmetrical, multi-pass, shell and tube heat exchanger. Tube patterns and internals are optimized to provide maximum heat transfer duty at the lowest possible pressure drop. Inlet and outlet piping connections on both the shell and tube sides can be located in any radial direction for ideal installation flexibility.  

Heat exchangers are designed for acid plants and process plants requiring efficient gas to gas heat transfer. Typical applications are thermal oxidizer exhaust, boiler flue gas, furnace exhaust and acid plants. Materials of construction include CS, 304SS, 316 SS, and 321 SS. Thermal expansion variances in tube and shell growth are absorbed in shell expansion compensation joints. Proprietary designs allow a wide range of temperature capabilities from 0F to 1200F.

We design and provide gas to gas heat exchangers to dimensionally retrofit into any radial flow heat exchanger application. AirBTU heat exchangers have full radial freedom on nozzle orientation for retrofit applications.  De-bottlenecking results from the lowest possible pressure drop design. Acid plant heat exchangers for hot, cold and inter-pass applications are optimized for each application.
